Why We Built This Site
No single office maintains every part of a Johnson County history. The Sheriff/Jail holds its reports and booking material, while Circuit Clerk Ryan M. O'Neal preserves charges, dockets, and dispositions. The Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification maintains the statewide repository, IDOC covers state custody, and ISP publishes the sex offender registry. The site exists to make those boundaries, request routes, and official fees easier to distinguish.

Only the issuing agency - the sheriff, the court, or the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification - can provide an official copy of a criminal record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
